A Guide to Maximizing Your Profit Potential Through Price

In this article, we used data from Yelp to find the low, average, and high car detailing prices in Arizona. We then compared the cost of car detailing services, so that you can see how your pricing stacks up. Hopefully this gives you the confidence to create pricing packages that make the biggest impact to your bottom line.

Setting prices for your services is one of the biggest challenges you face as a car detailing business. But effectively setting your car detailing prices is crucial to increasing revenue and ensuring your success. And one of the best ways of doing that is by looking at the prices set by your competitors in your state and locally.

Your goal should be not only to align your pricing more closely with others in your city, but also with those in your state. That means you’re not leaving any dollars on the table and can help leverage pricing across the industry. A win for everyone. Average Car Detailing Prices in Arizona

The average price of a car detailing service in Arizona is $164.62. That’s almost 3% higher than the rest of the country and the national average of $160.16. That’s encouraging news for detailers across the state! However, that doesn’t mean that there’s not some room to increase pricing at an industry level.

Most and Least Expensive Cities in Arizona

The cities with the most expensive car detailing prices in Arizona are Scottsdale, Tempe, and Gilbert, with prices of up to $350 at the top end of the scale.

The least expensive cities are Buckeye, Glendale, and Chandler, where you can get a car detailing service for as little as $75.

These figures highlight a huge variation in car detailing prices between cities. A detailer in Scottsdale may be charging more than four-and-a-half times that of a detailer in Buckeye. And that’s for the same job.

Range of Car Detailing Prices in Arizona

High and low detailing prices in Arizona cities only tell us part of the story. Before we delve deeper into the range of car detailing prices in the state, it’s important to address the variation even within the same cities.

Scottsdale, which has the most expensive services at $350, does not have the highest average. That’s because the range between the highest-priced car detailing services and the lowest is a whopping $230. So that means that a car detailing business in the same city (Scottsdale) could be making three times as much. That’s huge.

If we just look at the overall average, Gilbert and Peoria have the highest prices at $225. But Peoria didn’t make the top three highest because Scottsdale’s variation is so vast. And that’s problematic for the industry as a whole.

After all, if a customer can get the same job done for a third of the price, in the same city, then why wouldn’t they? This is where knowledge of the data is key. Detailers should know their worth and have the confidence to set prices that align more closely with the high end of the state average.

On a state level, Goodyear and Chandler have the lowest average prices for car detailing services at $125. When we compare that to Gilbert and Peoria’s $225 average, that’s a $100 difference. So a customer could pay 80% more depending on where they are in the state. That’s a lot of potential revenue.

Business owners should be considering the range to come with strategic pricing. Your aim is to come up with car detailing prices that bring overall pricing up and closer together—across the state.
